The gentleman working here was super nice. It was busy and he was all by himself, yet he made each person feel special. He gave the kids a piece of candy and even a bottle of water. Very well kept museum with a really nice display in the upstairs room. It's worth taking the time to see this historic building.
It was our first time to really visit Alabama and spend a few days here. This historic building is certainly worth stopping and checking out. It is pretty small and the staff are amazing. This museum is very well kept and the entire surrounding area was very cool to check out.
Very proud to see that in Alabama we can still enjoy our history. The house and decor are amazing. The staff here is very helpful and knowledgeable.
This museum was an interesting place to visit. The history behind it was fun to learn and the tour guides were happy to answer any questions I had. However, I have to deduct some stars for two reasons. First reason being that this museum was extremely small and most of it was only filled with old furniture trying to show what the house might have looked like back then. Most rooms you couldn't even walk into because they were roped off. Second, the tour was not much of a tour at all. Instead of speaking to my tour group the guide just handed my group some small guide books and instructed us to follow the books around the house ourselves. The guide person would however answer any questions we had. Overall, this was a nice place to visit once but I probably wouldn't go again.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal...among these (rights) are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.....whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People...to abolish it, and to institute new Government"
Great museum. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. An amazing piece of history from a dark chapter of American history when the United States invaded and attacked a foreign nation. A nation that was formed for similar reasons as the United States was formed.
