The manager at this store is very unprofessional. It was my first time needing a generator and I wasn't sure what would be the best option for me. I only need it to run a fan and charge 1 cellular device. I informed the manager that I had no idea of what I will need. I asked questions and he didn't provide answers. He only showed the two they had at the front of the store. I was aware that those models required more than gas so I asked if there was a solar option or any other options and he pointed to the aisle and walked away. If you didn't know the answer, it's okay to say ma'am I don't know but don't make a customer feel like they are annoying you. Its your job to help (and get a sale). Least to say I will never buy anything from this location.
To figure running watts, take the amperage draw x current; an example a saw showing 8 amps, plugs into a 115 house circuit, takes minimum 920 watts to run without damage to saw; but will take 1,150 watts to start up (usually 125% of load need). Consumes less energy after starting.
Extemely helpful associates who really went above and beyond assisting my husband with his purchase. He purchased a cargo rack for our vehicle to haul home supplies purchased for surviving hurricane Matthew. We were staying in a hotel, so he didn't have any of his tools with us. He was assisted by the employees with the use of both tools and space to assemble the purchase before leaving the store. It is rare to get such great service. It not only made an already stressful situation a lot easier, it also made us want to go back and give this location our business. Very accommodating.
Lots of good prices. Especially when they have a sidewalk sale. Pay attention to the ads, there are some not so good prices and some very good prices.
Read many reviews where ones ask questions about generators, helpful hints from experience. There are two types of generators: Inverter and Direct. An invert generates DC into a rectifier then into an electronic device that delivers clean AC energy to one's devices. These are more expensive, but if you run electronics this is best choice. Doesn't take much to power a home computer, but to start up consumer lots of energy usually around 2,000 watts, but to run about 360. A direct generator delivers direct AC from it's engines input shaft, this type generator is more dangerous, but usually widely around construction sites. Don't be confused either type can kill are seriously inflict electrical burns - Think first, if not sure - Leave it Alone! "Never stand in water or place feet to mud when cranking a generator, find something solid and dry like a wooden pallet.
~ Remember - Use your brain when using alternative energy ~
Great staff, low prices, and great selection.
