I had the worst experience I've ever had anywhere in this salon. I went in on break from my job to buy a can of hairspray. I have been to this store for all my hair care needs ever since this store opened. I have NEVER been treated this poorly in ANY store I've ever been in. I walked in and got the hairspray and walked to the counter. The person that was working there was working on a customer's hair and NEVER looked up at me. I waited, made out my check for $24.20 (I know the amount because I buy it all the time) and then looked up to see if she would acknowlege my presence. She looked at me and kept on doing her thing on the customer. Usually the hair stylist will stop for the 30 seconds it takes to ring someone up and come over to make the sale. The Wal Mart greeter walked up to me and said loudly, "Mam, someone will be with you in a moment." She was trying to get the stylist's attention. The stylist said loudly, "mam you will have to come back later, I'm busy". I almost fell out. The Wal Mart greeter and I looked at each other shocked!! I said, "I can't come back later, I'm on break from my job." She then said "Well, then come back after work because I can't ring that up right now." I then said, "I'm going out of town right after work and won't have time to come back." She then said "well I can't help you right now." I said "so you're gonna turn away a paying customer?" She said "I'm here alone and am working on someone here." At that point the cutomer's friend or relative stood up and said, "You don't expect her to stop what she's doing to wait on you, do you?" I said, "YES, I DO!" The stylist then informed me that I could either come back or leave it.....so I left it and I will NEVER step foot in that place again. I have called the district manager and have gotten NO call back. I'm white and the stylist and her customer were black. I was discriminated against completely and totally. The Wal Mart greeter and store manager are black and were both VERY apologetic to me for this person's behavior. This stylist needs to be fired.
