Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. I've never encountered a doctor that is as rude, short tempered and uncaring as Dr. Jakes. Each time I went, it was like starting over as a new patient as he never seemed prepared or informed about my case or my tests results. Forget calling his nurse as she gave me inaccurate results of one of my tests. Got to my appointment with Dr. Jakes, and he gave me a different result. And, don't expect him to spend longer than 5 mins. with you. After three visits, I gave up and went to UAB. Unbelievable.
Dr. Jakes is a shy person, and sometimes may seem abrupt because he isn't very talkative or bubbly. However, he is an excellent doctor and very thorough. I have a rare auto-immune disease, and he took every measure until he identified it. He did me a great service and answered every question I threw at him. Don't let his reserved demeanor throw you off. He is extremely good at what he does. His wife was also my allergist as a child, and I would highly, highly recommend her as well.
I had a great first visit. Staff was very nice. Doctor was thorough. Excited about finding out what is going on with my body.
Dr. Jakes identified in a few minutes what I been trying to find out for over 30 years! He is quiet and direct, but on point! He identified that what was diagnosed back then, in the military, and how it was affecting my body. The staff was very nice, personable, professional and helpful. I am so glad that I was referred to him!
I have never been treated so bad in my life basic told me he couldnt do anything to help i was at the best ill ever be Rude and uncaring would take my dog to see this man again
