I purchased a set of tires road hazard warranty and got a 4 wheel lifetime alignment. Mike was the rep I dealt with, he is very knowledgeable, and down to earth. They sold me on getting my TPMS stems rebuilt. Basically it's an O-ring and valve core. I am a smoker, and on-base there are only a few places near buildings where you are allowed to smoke. At Firestone the smoking area is adjacent to the stalls. I noticed the guy changing my tires didn't remove my TPMS to change the O-ring. I walked inside to complain ( I should have asked what was going on first ). Mike immediately calmed me down, and said he would find out why. The reason was they had the part that was supposed to cross reference, however the tech noticed they didn't look the same and decided not to chance cutting the O-ring just in case they couldn't get the right part (good call). The tech said he sent someone to get me, but I wasn't in the waiting room. I wasn't I was watching from the smoking area. He apologized for the confusion. On the alignment rack they not only gave me the printouts but allowed me to see the computer to know the pages weren't just printed off a document. They also aligned it on the negative side of the OEM specs (still within spec just on the negative side because I asked them to due to me driving VERY aggressively). All in all I give them an A+ for the work done, and their patients in dealing with someone like me.
Went here for a new car battery. Service reps were nice but it took over an hour for a battery replacement, they put in a smaller battery than my car's normal size, and they failed to properly reattach my battery cables (didn't tighten down my negative cable)...causing my car not to start the next day and almost walking to work. On top of this, my car has two new issues after the battery swap. My driver side window won't automatically roll down with a single button Press like it used to and my motor timing is off/too low when at idle. I don't normally take my car to a repair shop as I don't trust mechanics and this bad experience only re-enforces my views. In defense of Firestone, I'm not going bad to have these issues addressed. My car is fine with a smaller battery (though not what I'd prefer) and I'll research why my timing and window don't work right. I don't plan to go back to Firestone again.
The manager (his name is Mike, so ask for him!) at this Firestone is the kind of employee I would hire in an instant. I was in a bind and my car had broken down about 20 mikes short of Montgomery, and I later learned my transmission had failed. Firestone can't do anything for transmissions, but the manager, Mike, was super understanding of the situation and offered coffee and did the inspection for free. He even paid for a tow to a transmission specialist out of his own pocket and explained everything in layman's terms. I would HIGHLY recommend this place as it is difficult to find a mechanic with integrity nowadays, and Mike is understanding to any crappy situation with your car. 5/5 STARS!
Good service but not considerate of customer's time. I had an appointment, showed up on time, asked for two new tires and balancing of other two. Left 2.5 hours later. Should have taken an hour tops.
I was there about a month ago for a routine oil change operation. I left my car and had to wait for them to call me when it was ready. The call was not the expected one - they told me that I had to go at their front desk and get some bad news about my vehicle condition. When I went there, they explained to me that an oversize oil plug was installed in my vehicle the previous time when my oil was changed, so they wanted to charge me more than $500 for a new oil pan and a new plug. I told them that I want my plug installed back or a temporary one, and I will not pay $500 for something that was perfectly OK, before I went there. I finally convinced them, and they let me go, after I signed a paper that I will be driving the car on my personal risk. I later checked the part with Chrysler and they confirmed that this was the original size oil plug. Had the repair with them for $180 and went home happy. The main reason that 3 different car repairers told me, they consider, was wrong direction on the 3 bar pistol that they used to unscrew my oil plug. All the three guys said that it is stupid and unprofessional to try to unscrew an oil plug with an automatic pistol, because if you accidentally set it on the wrong direction, it will damage the carving. So it was not an oversized oil plug, it was just a damaged carving, damaged by the guys in Firestone Maxwell AFB. I paid my $180 (not the $500, that they wanted me to pay) for something that was their fault! Use their service on your own risk. If they are so "competent" for something so simple, I don't want to imagine what they can do to your car if it needs a serious repair.
