We love this zoo! If you live within a 2-3 hour drive and have small children, I suggest an annual pass. We live an hour and a half away, got our passes back in March and have been countless times. This is the place to be for a family on a budget. You can bring your own food in to keep from spending extra money. The animals are so much fun and a lot of them will interact with you. The baby jaguars and siamomg family are our favorites.
Mann Museum could use some TLC. But otherwise so much fun.
I used to volunteer here, so I already loved it. I left Montgomery and came back a few years later and still love everything about it. Train and skylift were just as fun as ever.
Wonderful zoo...been visiting since I was a little girl. They have made a lot of great changes and are continuing to grow. Great place to visit. Our family enjoys visiting often and we highly recommend!
Too many of the Christmas lights were out and I had expected more displays. Train ride was way too slow which made the wait way too long. It wasn't as nice as what I remembered years ago. We are zoo members and will continue to be so. That's why I would love to see an improvement on Christmas lights. I'd also like to see a light display of the nativity.
The zoo is lovely in Christmas lights. The train ride is longer than Birmingham. We were not able to see many exhibits in the evening Christmas lights but we were able to see the elephants in their home and also visit the petting zoo where there is an adorable llama. Also we were surprised there was a cafe open.
