Love the library! The staff is always helpful.

The secretary an hour later comes and gets me and the first thing that I asked the director was if the other party could be present so that she could hear both sides. She said no I will not do that because I do not want a combative escalated situation, She asked me to explain the situation and I explained the situation to her. Her next statement to me was " I was not here I did not see it so I can not say that it did not happen or that it did happen. And I stated well that was the whole reason why I asked you first if we needed to both be present so that you could hear it from the horses mouth? So I stated to her well your secretary was her when it happened. Her next statement was I am not going to bring the secretary into this because she is under the assistant director and she is under me they both work for me and I will not allow YOU referring to me to cause a conflict of interest. I was taken aback, how did I cause this. Then she continues to state " I AM THE DIRECTOR, THEY WORK FOR ME THEY WORK UNDER ME YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THE PROPER CHAIN OF COMMAND" She then (The director) yells I AM DONE TALKING WITH YOU I AM EMOTIONAL AND I HAD A DEATH IN MY FAMILY GET OUT OF MY OFFICE", and I stated to her ok no problem may I please have the info to someone higher than you. She Yells again "GET OUT OF MY OFFICE NO I AM NOT GIVING YOU THE INFORMATION TO ANYTHING. She stops the patrol officer and tells her I want her out of my office, I was already out. The Director goes back into her office closes the door and I am standing in the middle of the hall way explaining to her what happened and the patrol officer stated well do you want an apology or what do you need, and I explained to the patrol officer that she just stood there and witnessed me asking for a higher person she refused several times and closed her office door, the patrol officer said oh ok I see.

Very quiet, lots of computers ,helpful staff

I went to the downtown library on 10/03/17 to study for my classes. The lamp students were downstairs and were a little noisy so I went to the second floor. I was on the phone with a classmate giving her directions to the location. I was sitting at the end of the hall for over ten minutes. The assistant director walks out of the office and literally screams at me down the hall " I CAN HEAR YOU CONVERSATION ALL THE WAY DOWN THE HALL" the second gentlemen in the hall looks up with his mouth open in shock and then looks at me. I stated "I'm sorry" She then proceeds to make a nasty gesture toward me in the middle of the hall. The said part about it is my cousin who was MURDERED. I went to his funeral on 10/02/2017 and I have the obituary to prove it;( REMEMBER THE MURDERED PART) his wife is walking up behind her to go pass her to the computer room. She stops at the end of the hall and asked me what just happened? And was she screaming at you? The assistant director after making the gesture walks across the hall way to the next office, back to her office and then she walks out and then SLAMS the door behind herself and then walks through the double doors to the study area. Instead of approaching the assistant director myself, I walk into the secretary's office explained to her what happened and she understood BECAUSE SHE WAS SITTING IN HER OFFICE WHEN THE ASSISTANT STARTING SCREAMING AT ME. I asked the secretary if what the assistant director did was necessary and why couldn't she say it in a better way and why would she try to publicly embarrass me in such a manner. I asked the secretary if I could speak with that person's boss. The secretary stated that the director was at lunch but when she got back she would meet with me. I said ok and went in the study area to sit down and study I even borrowed a highlighter from the receptionist and we laughed and compared tattoos so I was not rude, abrasive, disrespectful, cause a seen or anything. I went through the proper chains of command.

The children's section was awesome ! The Library staff are beyond helpful.

The library is undergoing a major renovation. I can't wait to see the results.
